Alison Mariot was founded in Toronto in 2014 on a simple idea: that jewellery meant for every day should be built to survive every day. Not a season, not a summer — years.

18K GOLD VERMEIL AT 3 MICRONS
Most gold jewellery on the market carries a plating of around 0.5 microns — a layer so thin it is measured in thousandths of a millimetre, and thin enough to wear through within months.
Our vermeil pieces carry 3 microns of 18K gold. That is six times standard plating, and above the legal minimum required for a piece to be called vermeil at all. Standard plating is measured in months. Vermeil at 3 microns is measured in years.

TITANIUM WITH 18K GOLD PVD
Our second material is titanium finished with 18K gold PVD. Titanium is stronger than steel and roughly half its weight. It does not rust, does not fade and does not provoke allergies — the same reason it is used in medical implants and aerospace.
PVD is not a coating in the ordinary sense. The gold is bonded to the metal at a molecular level in a vacuum chamber, which is why the finish survives contact that would strip conventional plating. It is also fully recyclable.

Every stone we set is natural. Nothing synthetic, nothing grown in a laboratory, no coloured glass. Black Onyx, Turquoise, Amethyst, Red Ruby, Green Apatite, Lapis Lazuli, Malachite, Labradorite, natural pearl and more than a dozen others.
This has one consequence worth understanding before you order: no two pieces are identical. Colour, depth and veining depend on the conditions in which the stone formed. A synthetic stone would be flawless and identical in every piece — which is precisely what we do not want.

FINDING YOUR SIZE
Size is the most common hesitation when buying jewellery online, and in our case it is often not a question at all: every ring in the MERAKI collection is adjustable and opens at the back to fit any finger.

HOW TO CARE FOR IT
Put jewellery on last, after perfume and cream, and take it off first at the end of the day. Remove it before swimming, sauna and training — not because it is delicate, but because chlorine and perspiration change any finish over time.
A soft dry cloth is enough to bring back the depth of a stone. Avoid chemical cleaners and ultrasonic devices entirely. Store each piece in its own box rather than mixed with others.
