How to find your size: rings, bracelets and chains

The biggest fear when buying jewellery online is not quality. It is size.
This guide solves it for all three: rings, bracelets and chains. You need nothing more than a piece of string and a ruler.
Half our rings need no size at all
Every ring in the MERAKI collection is adjustable. It opens and closes at the back, and fits any finger.
There is no size to choose and no mistake to make. If you decide to wear it on a different finger, the ring follows.
One note: open and close it gently, with two fingers, never with force. Gold bends, but like any metal it dislikes being bent repeatedly in the same place.
Sized rings: the chart
Our steel rings are sold in US sizes. The measurement that actually matters is the inside diameter in millimetres — that does not change from country to country.

As a guide: the most common size for women is 6 to 7, for men 9 to 10. But a guide is not a measurement — two minutes of work saves you an exchange.
The string method
You need a piece of string or a strip of paper, and a ruler with millimetres.
- Wrap the string around the base of your finger, snug but not tight
- Mark the point where the end meets the string
- Lay the string flat and measure the length up to the mark
- That number is the circumference. Find it in the chart above
Check the knuckle. The ring has to pass over it. If your knuckle is noticeably wider than the base of the finger, measure both and choose a size in between.
Measure in the evening, when fingers are at their largest. A ring that slides on in the morning may not in the evening.
Measure a ring that already fits
The most accurate method, if you own a ring you wear on the same finger.
Place it on a ruler and measure the inside diameter — straight across the centre, from inner edge to inner edge. A ring measuring 17.3 mm inside is a size 7.
One millimetre is almost a full size. Measure twice.
If you fall between two sizes
Choose the larger one. A ring that is slightly loose turns on the finger; a ring that is slightly tight is never worn at all.
This applies especially to wide bands, which always feel tighter than a thin band of the same size.
Bracelets
Wrap the string around your wrist where the bracelet will sit, and measure the length in centimetres.

If your measurement falls exactly between two sizes — 18 cm, for example — take the larger. A bracelet should move a little on the wrist, not sit against it.
Some designs come in a single size for women or for men, and cord bracelets are adjustable. Exact sizes are always shown on the product page.
Chain length
Our chains run from 40 to 60 cm. Where each one sits:
- 40 cm — at the base of the neck, above the collarbone
- 45 cm — just below the collarbone. The most requested length for women
- 50 cm — on the upper chest
- 60 cm — below the chest. For men, or to be worn over clothing
To layer them, leave at least 5 cm between two chains so they do not tangle.
If you get the size wrong
You have 30 days from delivery to request an exchange. The piece must be unworn and in its original packaging.
